BOARD POLICY


Under general supervision of the Administrative Assistant of Instruction, provide psychological services to schools including testing, counseling, and consulting to assist in meeting educational needs of individual pupils.


GUIDELINES


  1. Administer to pupils, on an individual basis, intelligence tests, achievement tests, and tests to measure perceptual and motor development.
  2. Prepare case studies, evaluate and interpret all testing and recommend school and class placements for the following programs: Educable Mentally Retarded, Educationally Handicapped, Learning Disabled, Behaviorally Handicapped, and Gifted.
  3. Interpret test findings as requested.
  4. Confer with teachers, administrators and other professional staff on findings of individual tests and help in efforts to better understand and place each pupil.
  5. Assist in periodic testing and re-evaluation of exceptional children placed in Special Education classes.
  6. Consult, when needed, with other agencies, both public and private, regarding individual cases.
  7. Write complete reports on each pupil tested and file with test records; maintain required records and files; make brief appropriate entries on cumulative records for each pupil tested.
  8. Be responsible for the state reports and applications for funds as directed by the Administrative Assistant of Instruction and the Superintendent.
  9. Assist in the "teaming" of all Special Education children as requested.
  10. Perform related duties as required.
