Subject:  Organizational Plan for Instruction

BOARD POLICY

For instructional purposes, the schools shall be divided into three general sections: Elementary grades, kindergarten through grade five; middle school, grades six through eight; high school, grades nine through twelve.

GUIDELINES

  1. The principal shall direct the instructional program of the total school.
  2. For experimental purposes the principal may authorize grouping between classes at the same grade level. Teachers wishing to group for instruction or implement the "subject matter specialist concept of teaching" must receive prior approval from the principal. This arrangement for instruction does not relieve a teacher from the total responsibility for the children assigned to her/him by the principal.
  3. The principal shall keep the superintendent informed concerning the appropriateness of the 'organizational plan for instruction and shall make recommendations for organizational change when he feels that change will improve the instructional program.
