I. BOARD POLICY
It shall be the policy of the Board to secure for the school system the most competent staff of employees available. In implementation of this policy, the Board realizes the importance of the initial careful selection of personnel and the conscientious and continuous evaluation of employees during their probationary period.
II. GUIDELINES
1. All new classified employees shall be evaluated in one month, three months, and six months by their immediate supervisor.
2. This evaluation shall be in response to the employee's performance to his/her assigned duties.
3. Each formal observance of an employee shall be followed within two days by a conference between the supervisor and the employee.
4. The employee shall be notified, at this conference, in writing, if the employee is meeting specifications.
5. If the employee is not meeting specifications, and in the judgment of the supervisor the employee will not meet specifications, the supervisor will recommend to the Superintendent the termination of the employee, in turn, the Superintendent will make a recommendation to the Board of Education.
6. A new non-certificated probationary employee shall be defined as one who has completed less than one continuous year of employment.
