24 August 2020

Dear Parents,

O’Dee Hansen and I spent the morning of August 20th visiting all the schools in our district. We saw nothing but GREATNESS! We were fortunate to see teachers working with students in their classroom, bus drivers traveling around the community, food services workers preparing meals, and staff and administration guiding children. I am fortunate to work each day with individuals who value their commitment to this community.

As we work to return to “normal life”, remember that normal looks different. It is still important for all of us to keep to our safety routines and not let our guard down. Wearing your mask, distancing from others, washing your hands and staying home when you are sick are all essential. These four things are part of the physical routines that will make the difference in maintaining school health, but there are other routines that you can help your student develop. Children need routines for sleep, schoolwork, relaxation, personal hygiene and meals. Creating these routines as we move forward will help your child adjust to the school year and be successful.

Please communicate with your principal if you have any questions or concerns about what is happening at school. They know how to assist you. Also, please call your school secretary if you need to keep your student at home, this will help us monitor our work together. I am alsointerested in your feedback. Don’t hesitate to reach out.

Enjoy your week and take care,

Nan
