NSSD Mission

NSSD Foundation

Dear Parents,

I agree with L.M. Montgomery, “I am so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers”. October is over, but it has brought us much needed rain and cooler weather.  Students are busy with a variety of activities, and this is as it should be.  Thank you for supporting your children.

Our transportation department has made efforts over the years to add cameras inside all of our buses, which has helped us address safety issues.  We are now making efforts to add outside cameras on our newer buses. These cameras will help us document and report if there is a major safety violation while buses are stopped.  We now have support to report to law enforcement if a driver passes a bus while it is stopped and lights are flashing. Please watch for our buses on the road and stop when you see those red lights flashing. We want all our children to arrive at school safely.  Thank you for your help.

Each year, schools are required to post safe walking routes for students.  You can look at those maps at SafeRoutesUtah.com.

If you or a neighbor have not received your high school diploma, there are still opportunities to make this happen. The NSSD Adult Education Program is open to community members Tuesday and Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. at Pleasant Creek School, 111 East 100 South in Mt. Pleasant.  The phone number for Pleasant Creek School is 435-462-2817.

Sanpete Kindness has asked that I share the following information our school community.  Take a look at attached flyer and communicate directly with this group if you are interested.

Central Utah Public Health will host a COVID vaccine clinic on Wednesday, November 3rd from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm at our district office. The clinic will include booster shots for individuals over the age of 65 with certain underlying health conditions and who work in high-risk settings (healthcare, schools, etc.). We will send additional information as soon as we have more details.

Mark your calendars…. Thanksgiving Break will begin November 24th with students returning to school on Monday, November 29th

Take care,
Nan
