BATTLE OF THE BOOKS - Last Friday was the final round of The Battle of the Books. Congratulations to all who participated in the event. Students began preparing for this last summer. Many students read over 15 books and practiced the entire year. Check out the Fairview Elementary PTA Facebook page for pictures of the winning teams. It was a fun afternoon! Thank you teachers, students, and parents and PTA for helping make this a success!

NATIONAL SCHOOL BREAKFAST WEEK - National School Breakfast Week began today. It will run March 6th-10th. This is a time that we celebrate school breakfast and remind parents, students, and staff of the importance of eating a healthy breakfast everyday. It is proven that students that eat a healthy breakfast do better academically than students who don't. The students that participate will receive a punch card and will receive a punch each time they eat breakfast. On Friday, March 10th, those students that have their punch card filled will receive a small prize and their card will be entered into a drawing for a larger prize. The cost for breakfast is only $1.25.

PIE DAY - We are ready for our second PIE Day. What is PIE Day you ask? It stands for Partners in Education. Have you ever wondered what your kids do while they are in school? "What does phonics look like?" "How do you do 6th grade math?" We are excited to announce an opportunity for you!

Thursday, March 9th at 12:15 pm, we will take you on a guided tour of a few classrooms in our school. You will get to watch some teachers and students as they interact with each other and learn in the classroom. After the tour, we will eat pie and have a short discussion about the visit. You can plan on about an hour total.

Let's work together to provide the best educational experience possible for our students! Space is limited. Please call Janae in the office to reserve your spot, 427-9204. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Mower This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

FOOD DRIVE - Thanks to everyone who participated in the food drive. We collected a lot of food. The high school will be gathering the food this week. They will count the food items and let us know which class earned the party with the North Sanpete High School Student Government.

ART STARTS - The Fairview Museum is excited to bring back the Art Starts Program. It begins today and will run through the month of May. Children of any age are invited to the basement of the museum right after school. They will participate in a different art project each week. The cost if only $15. This covers all materials at every class.

END OF 3RD QUARTER - Friday, March 10th is the end of the third quarter. This means there is only one more quarter left in this school year. Time flies fast when you are having fun! Report cards will be sent home Thursday, March 16. Please take time to sit with your students and review their report card together. The last quarter of school goes by so fast. Set goals with your students to end the school year strong. Remember to have them read each night. They may have math homework, or they can practice their math facts on Timez Attack. It is important to stay focused on learning during a time of year that gets pretty busy.

AFTER SCHOOL PICKUP - Please be careful when picking up kids after school. Pull into the school parking lot and park in a space.  We want children to use the cross walk to get to the cars. Do not park across the street. We don't want our children crossing the road with traffic going up and down. When leaving the school, watch behind you with extreme caution. With multiple cars pulling in and out at the same time, it is very easy to back into another car. Mrs. Mower is always happy to help you back out and keep incoming traffic away while you back out safely.
