MCDONALD'S FUND RAISER - Thanks to our amazing PTA and mcDonald's for sponsoring our dinner at the McDonald's fund-raiser on March 24. We had over 40 Fairview families drop by and enjoy dinner with us. Half of all the sales went right back to the school. The money raised will help to purchase our new swing set.

KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2016-2017 - Children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2016 need to begin the kindergarten registration process today. If you haven't already done so, please call the school today (427-9204) if you have a child or know of a child (neighbor or friend) who is eligible for kindergarten next year. At this point, all we need is the name of our new little Thunderbird along with a mailing address and phone number. Kindergarten registration and screening will take place on the morning of Thursday, May 26.

"SAGE" TESTING - Students in grades 3-6 will start the Utah State "SAGE" testing on Tuesday May 3. Testing will then continue through May 13. Make sure that your students are here on those testing days and that they are well rested, well fed, and given an extra "dose of love"  each morning. Be sure to express your confidence in them and to encourage them to do their best. Please avoid any appointments or family trips during this testing period. And thank you so much for your support of the amazing Thunderbirds!

DRESS POLICY - With the warm spring weather here, it is important that students and parents be reminded of our school and district's dress policy. We appreciate your support of this dress policy. Here is the summary that is also found in the school handbook:

Dress and grooming has a significant impact on the school's learning environment. Extremes of dress, accessories, or hair color/style that interfere with learning are not allowed. The school supports fully the School Board's Dress Code Policy. Here are some important highlights:

•Grubby clothing that is worn-out or has HOLES is not permissible.
•Immodest dress of any kind is not permitted. This includes: exposed underwear, tank tops, tight fitting clothing, clothing which leaves the midriff exposed, short skirts or shorts (no more that 4 inches above the knee) and revealing clothing of any type.
•Sleeves will be worn and shoulders will be completely covered.
•Clothing with inappropriate pictures or words is prohibited.
•Hair should be clean, well groomed, and of a natural color.

READ EVERY DAY - At the beginning of the school year, all of our students made a commitment to "Read Every Day" (RED). Please help your child to spend at least 20 minutes every day reading. We know that reading every day builds strong readers. And strong readers become strong and successful students.
