WELCOME 2017 - We hope you enjoyed your Holiday Break! We are excited to welcome students back to school.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES - Parent Teacher Conferences are set for January 9-10. You will be receiving a note home this week with your scheduled time. If you need to reschedule, please contact your child's teacher. This is an important time for parents and teachers to communicate, review progress, and set goals for students. Report Cards will be handed out. Parents will review test data and student progress. Please use this opportunity to discuss the individual needs of your child. We are striving for 100% attendance from parents. Help us reach our goal! This is a great chance to see the good things your children are doing at school, and help them to see what they can do to make even greater progress.

NO SCHOOL MONDAY, JANUARY 16 - There is no school on Monday, January 16. It is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and a federal holiday. We hope  you enjoy the three-day weekend with your family. Remember that Tuesday, January 17 will be an Early Out day. The next newsletter will be sent to you on Tuesday, January 17.

WINTER WEATHER - We expect students to go outside for recess, even when it is cold. Please make sure that your students are dressed for the weather that day. They should wear a warm coat to school everyday. If gloves are available, that is a bonus for the children. Just make sure that all clothing has your child's name in it. This helps in returning coats that get left outside or in hallways.

ONLINE PARENT SURVEY - You will soon be receiving information on how you can take our online parent survey where you will have the opportunity to let us know how we are doing as a school in support of your children. We would like as much feedback as possible, so we are asking ALL parents to take the survey. We want to improve in order to make our school more effective. As soon as we receive the login information we will let you know via email, Facebook and a note that will be sent home. Thank you for your support!

FREE ACCESS TO NATIONAL PARKS FOR 4TH GRADERS AND THEIR FAMILIES - If you have a 4th grader and you would like a free national Parks pass for your family, go to: It's a great deal.

THIRD QUARTER - Today is the first day of the 3rd quarter. We want to encourage students to work hard and strive for excellence in all of their schoolwork. Please talk with your children about school. Ask them about their day. have them explain to you things they are learning about and studying. Make sure your children are completing their homework. Set a designated place in your home for them to complete their homework. Turn off the TV and other distractions so students can concentrate. Make sure the completed homework gets put back in the homework folder and backpack so they can turn it in the next morning.

SCHOOL COMMUNITY COUNCIL - Our School Community Council will meet on Wednesday, January 18 at 3:30 pm. This is an open public meeting and we encourage school community members to join us as teachers and parents work together to make our school even better. Nathan Huntington, Jenni Klunker, Lela Hawkins, and Alyssa Madsen are your elected parent representatives. You are encouraged to discuss school issues with them so that they can then bring them to the Council. You can also email the principal This email address is being protected from spambots.
