DRAMA PERFORMANCE - Wednesday, May 17th will be our Drama Performance Day. Each Class has been working with Mr. Barlow during drama. The classes have a performance they will be doing for parents and the school. The schedule will go as follows:

RE-REGISTRATION OF STUDENTS - Parents of ALL returning students will need to update their PowerSchool registration. In case you do not have access to a computer or you need assistance in completing this "re-registration" process, Janae will be available August 17, 18, & 21 to help with the registration process. If you know of any new students, they register their students on the same days.

LAST NEWSLETTER FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2016-2017 - This is the last newsletter of this school year. We are so proud of the Thunderbirds and the progress they have made this year. The SAGE testing, the DIBELS testing, and classroom assessments all indicate that our students made exceptional progress this school year. The dedicated teachers and staff of Fairview Elementary School have helped our students push themselves to greater heights in their learning. We are so proud of them and their many accomplishments. Please continue to make learning a priority all summer long. And thanks to all of the Fairview parents and community members who have supported our school and the students. Have a super summer filled with reading and learning!

GREAT SUMMER READING PROGRAMS - Summer is a time for reading - and losts of it. The "Summer Slide" can be dangerous to a child's educational health and we know that summer reading the the antidote. So, whoat can you do to provide books and motivation for reading this summer?  Establish reading goals as a family and reward yourselves for meeting these goals. We are the Reading Thunderbirds - even in the summer. Help your children get involved in one or all of the reading programs listed below as well as others that you might find. Free books, reading contests, games, and reading support can be found by taking part in these programs.

Mt. Pleasant Library Summer Reading Program -  The Mt. Pleasant Library will once again be offering a children's summer reading program for children. It will start in June and run every Wednesday until the middle of July. Children should go to the Mount Pleasant Recreation Center on these days to enjoy this program. Go to the Mt. Pleasant Library to sign up and get details about his program. Website: www.mtpleasantlib.org

KSL'S AND THE GOVERNOR'S "READ TODAY" PROGRAM - Students can track their minutes and win prozes for themselves and for the school. Get online and register today. www.readtoday.com

BARNES & NOBLE -  There are lots of fun reading activites at the Barnes & Noble in Orem. For more information, go to their website and find the Orem, Utah location. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/summerreading

 •SCHOLASTIC SUMMER CHALLENGE - The Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge is, "Happy Camper, Take a Reading Adventure." Students record every minute they read. When recorded on the Scholastic website, the student and our school will get credit for these minutes. It is a great way to track you children's summer reading - so get registered and then record minutes read every day. Go to: www.scholastic.com/summer and register.
