DRESS FOR SUCCESS - The weather is heating up. Please  remember that students need to follow the dress code. Students have grown a lot over the past year. When bringing spring and summer clothes out of the closet, make sure they fit appropriately. Shirts should cover the outside edge of the shoulder and cover the midriff when arms are raised. No tank tops are allowed at school. Shorts and skirts need to be long enough to come within 4" off the floor when in a kneeling position.

All head coverings such as hats, hoodies, and bandanas are not allowed within the building unless they are part of a special activity. We understand if students want to wear a hat to protect them from the sun at recess, but they are not to be worn in the building during school. We want all students to feel comfortable at school. Following the dress code helps everyone to maintain a positive learning atmosphere. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school or Mrs Mower. The dress and grooming policy is also on the district's webpage:

https://www.nsanpete.org/index.php/districtplicies/districtpoliciesstudents/135-dress-and-grooming.html

POP AND FOOD AT SCHOOL - There are many students bringing candy, treats, and food to school to eat during recess and class. The school provides a healthy snack Tuesday - Friday for students. We also serve school lunch that provides them with all the nutrition they need. Please do not  send students to school with food or pop. If there are special circumstances that your student must eat more than provided, please contact the classroom teacher. Teachers will send home a note if the class is having a special activity when students are encouraged to bring drinks, treats, and candy.

DANGER FROM SPRING RUN-OFF - Please talk to your children and remind them to be careful when walking home. Children should stay on the road or sidewalks. There was a lot of snow this winter and we are beginning to see an increase in the spring run-off down the creek. Talk to them about the dangers of the creek and the fast moving water. We want our children to be safe!

ART STARTS - The Fairview Museum is excited to bring back the Art Starts Program. It is held every Monday and will run through the month of May. children of any age are invited to the basement of the museum right after school They will participate in a different art project each week. the cost is only $15. This covers all materials at eery class until the end of May. If you have questions, please contact the Fairview Museum 427-9216.

SPRING BREAK - The Spring Break goes from March 27-March 31. Encourage your children to explore the great outdoors. When we get back, we only have two months of school. Many events will be taking place. We want students to participate and finish strong this school year.

KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2017-2018 -  Children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2016 need to begin the kindergarten registration process today. If you haven't already done so, please call the school today 427-9204 if you have a child or know of a child (neighbor or friend) who is eligible for kindergarten next year. At this point, all we need is the name of our new little Thunderbird along with a mailing address and phone number.
