NETSMARTZ ASSEMBLY - Last week our students learned about internet safety from Netsmartz. Students learned how to be kind online and use good 'netiquette.' They were also told to ask a parent or guardian before sharing personal information. They agreed to never meet anyone face-to-face from the internet. If they see something that makes them uncomfortable, they should turn off the computer and talk to a trusted adult. Talk to your kids about staying safe online!

ONLINE PARENT SURVEY - The first of January we sent home a note about a very important survey we are asking all parents to take. The purpose of the survey is to gather feedback about teachers, principals, and schools. Responses are anonymous and no personal information is collected. Results will be given to teachers and administrators and used to improve classrooms and our school. The survey takes about 10 minutes. So far, we only have EIGHT parents that have taken the survey. You may take the survey on any computer or device that has web access. You are also welcome to take the survey on a school computer. The survey is available in English and Spanish.

You can access the survey by following either of these links:

There is also a link to the survey on the school website. This survey will be open from Monday, January 9th through Monday, February 6th. You may receive more than one invitation or reminder to take the survey, but please take the survey only once.

FAMILY COLLEGE NIGHT FOR LATINO FAMILIES - Snow College is organizing a Family College Nigh for Latino families and other minority groups living in this area. The event will take place on February 10, 2017 at 6:00 pm in the Green Wood Student Center at Snow College.

They are seeking to engage the Latino families and all the diverse groups of people living in this area into higher education. Snow College has many resources to offer and yet only a few of these families have accessed them.

They will offer food, child-care, college gear and lots of information to all who attend. They will also have students volunteering to translate for those who come. if you have questions, please contact Fernando Montano, 435-283-7328.

SKI UTAH PASSPORT FOR 5TH AND 6TH GRADE STUDENTS - Did you know that 5th graders can get a ski pass for $35 that allows them to ski three times at each of Utah's 14 resorts. And 6th graders can ski one time at each of Utah's 14 resorts - all for $35. Just to to: https//www.skiutah.com/passes/passports

PTA - We have an amazing PTA that works hard for the students at our school. We appreciate all they do. They are always looking for help. Like the old saying, "Many hands make light work," we would like to lighten the load for the PTA. Please contact Alyssa Madsen or Allynne Mower for more information about how you can support the PTA.

BATTLE FO THE BOOKS - We are getting close to the Battle of the Books. If you have a 4-6 grader, encourage them to read each of the books on their list. help them to prepare for the battle by asking them questions about the book they are reading. This is another of the many activities the PTA puts on for us!
