PE Teacher / Assistant Football Coach at NSHS

My name is Matt Roberts and I am from Wales Utah. I am an NSHS alumni and excited to be back at my alma mater, North Sanpete High School. After graduation from NSHS I served a two-year mission for my church in London, England. Upon returning home I pursued my education at Snow College and Southern Utah University where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in physical education and a coaching emphasis. I then started teaching and coaching football at Desert Hills in St. George, Utah. Recently, I have received further education at Southern Utah University and graduated with a Masters in Sports Conditioning and Performance. This will be my 13th year teaching. I have taught weight training, body toning, physical education, and U.S. History. I look forward to being back at NSHS, I will also be coaching inside linebackers for the football team this year. My wife’s name is Natalie and she is a P. A. at the Moroni Clinic. She is from Bluffdale, Utah. We have 3 girls: London-6, Paige-3, and Brooklyn-3. Yes, they are twins! My family and I love being back in this beautiful valley and look forward to being part of the NS family.

6th Grade Intern Teacher at Mount Pleasant Elementary

My name is Hadley Snapp, and this is my husband, Anthony. We have been married for 2 years after meeting at Utah State University (Go Aggies!). We both graduated from USU, though I am originally from a small town in western Nebraska. Anthony and I love having adventures, and I have learned to love trying new things. I am an avid reader, so I love everything from Fablehaven to Sherlock Holmes to The Count of Monte Cristo. Athletically, I have played soccer, run cross country, and even played quidditch in college (USU has a great club team, but it is a non-magical activity). I have recently discovered the joy of cooking and eating new foods, and shawarma is my new experiment. And, most importantly, I am excited to start a new adventure with Mount Pleasant Elementary School this year!

FACS / CCA Teacher at NSMS

JoAnne Christensen is excited to begin teaching at North Sanpete Middle School. She will be teaching College and Career Awareness and Family and Consumer Science classes. She believes these subjects are needed in today’s modern world more than ever and hopes to emphasize practical and fun life skills to her students.

JoAnne’s career path has had several diversions on the way to teaching. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Weber State University and also completed coursework in accounting and medical coding. She met her husband, Rex, in a ballroom dance class when they were both attending Utah State University. She and Rex raised turkeys for many years and are now trying their hand at growing raspberries and other market garden produce on their farm. JoAnne has spent a lot of time working with youth in the Sanpete County 4-H program. She has served as Junior Livestock secretary and treasurer and worked as an afterschool program mentor where she developed and implemented service-learning programs. Her favorite 4-H activities have been teaching sewing to local clubs and in county workshops. She has also taught at local area quilt retreats.

For fun, JoAnne loves anything related to quilts—old ones, new ones, and in-between ones. If she’s not making one, she’s probably collecting one or saving one from being tossed out. She and Rex are the proud parents of three North Sanpete High School graduates and one NSHS senior.

AG Science / Welding Teacher at NSHS

My name is Jens Andreasen. I grew up on a dairy farm in Corinne, Ut. I traded dairy cows for beef cattle and horses and I have always been involved in production AG from a very young age. I graduated HS in 2009 from Box Elder HS. Did a year of general studies at Snow College then moved to USU once I got married. Studied Ag Education as USU with a minor in animal science. I took welding and shop classes all through HS as well as a welding class at USU. I greatly enjoy working with the youth and I am looking forward to the chance to repay what my AG teachers did for me by helping the kids I am so lucky to be around.

This is me and the fam. Me, Rylee, Haisley and Megan. First-year ag teacher ready to teach and preach AG.
